10 Sweet Afternoon - Avery Sunshine (2014)

This is one of the most sensual and romantic songs I've heard in a long time.  A song about making time for intimacy (nooner) and showing real emotion toward your partner.

D'Angelo Russell at center of Los Angeles Lakers rift after video he took of Nick Young is made public

Coach and Lakers legend Byron Scott was heavily criticized for not playing D'Angelo Russell.  The kid has great talent and can be one of the cornerstone for a Laker revival in the next 3 to 4 years.  But...the 19 year old Russell did the unthinkable...he violated the "Guy Code".  He was having a discussion with Nick Young, "Swaggy P" about relationships.  He recorded Young talking about how he met up with a 19 year old groupie and sexing her after a club encounter.  Nick Young is engaged to Iggy Izelia.  D'Angelo thought it was be a great idea to release the video onto social media...well, turns out that wasn't a good idea..duh!  Not only did Iggy find out, now his teammates refuse to sit near the rookie or even talk to him.  He's either the dumbest person in the world or he likes being hated.  Either way, the Lakers have a real problem.  You CAN'T keep both these players moving forward.  Although Russell is a great scorer, he will be ostracized moving forward.  If you get rid of Young, then it looks like you condone what D'Angelo did.  You have to get rid of both of them.

Needless to say, Coach Scott must have known that D'Angelo isn't ready for prime time and he had these character flaws.  When I was a kid, Scott was one of my favorite players on my favorite team and I hope he gets a pass on this year.  Clearly, the Kobe sideshow farewell tour and the immaturity of the players had a hand in the most horrible season the Lakers have had since they moved from Minneapolis.

Man walks into NOPD headquarters Monday, turns himself in for 'murder, rape and robbery' | NOLA.com

Man walks into NOPD headquarters Monday, turns himself in for 'murder, rape and robbery' | NOLA.com

I was born and raised in New Orleans...well actually in Kenner, LA near the airport, but I spent all of my college years living and working in NOLA.  I love my city, but I knew early in my collegiate career that I would not live there beyond college.  I didn't want to raise a family in the area.  As far back as I can remember crime, corruption and poverty were synonymous with New Orleans.  It has been dogged with having led the nation in murder for well over 5 years, the educational system is one of the worst in the nation, and the politicians are worse than the criminals that commits the crimes.

Recently I've been reading that there has been a rash of robberies in the French Quarter.  That is the sacred cow in the city..that's the reason most people visit the city.  If they can't contain the crime at the Number 1 tourist location, then they are indeed in trouble.

It may sound like I hate the Big Easy, but you'd be wrong.  I love the culture, the history, the FOOD is the best in the country and easy living.  However you can't ignore that problems that has been around for over 30 years.  I love the city and brag to my friends in the Baltimore/Washington D.C area that I'm from NOLA.

When I retire, I want to move back South but NOT back to NOLA unless the issues of crime, poverty, drugs and education has been addressed.  Instead of NOLA, I'm looking at S.C., N.C., or Fla.  I feel bad for even considering any place in the South other than my home, but I have a family to consider.   I hope the city can get it together because I WANT a reason to go back home!
